Hi-Yield Calcium Nitrate - 4 lbs

Hi-Yield Calcium Nitrate is a fertilizer containing two nutrients very important for plants, Calcium (Ca) and Nitrogen (N).  It is used in vegetable gardens especially when growing tomatoes and peppers for the prevention of blossom end rot.  Blossom end rot is not a disease, but a lack of sufficient calcium reaching the end of the fruit when it is growing rapidly. 

Can be applied as a soil side dress or foliar spray

Soil side dress:  Apply one cup per 50 feet of row or one level teaspoon per plant.  Apply to the root area of the plant,  but avoid direct contact with the plant stem (keep 2 inches away from stem).  Water in.  A second application two weeks later is recommended.  To prevent burn apply during the cooler hours of the day when temperature is below 85 degrees.  Do not apply to stressed plants.
